Use of Photo and Video Material – Sandnes Culture School
Sandnes Culture School recognizes the value of photo and video material in documenting and communicating our activities and offerings to the public, students, and guardians. The following guidelines have been developed to ensure responsible use and the protection of individuals’ privacy and integrity.
Privacy
-
Before selecting any photo, video, or audio for publication, a specific assessment will be made of how intrusive the sharing of the material may be for the individual.
-
Materials shared by Sandnes Culture School will consist of situational images without a specific, identifiable person as the central focus. This may include images from large public events involving multiple participants, such as parades or other official school events.
-
In exceptional cases where an image of a clearly identifiable individual is shared, that person will be contacted in writing to provide consent before publication.
-
If there is any doubt as to whether a specific individual in a situational image might feel violated, Sandnes Culture School will contact the person to clarify consent before publication.
-
Students with special needs for protection or reservation must notify the principal of Sandnes Culture School directly by phone.
Public Events
-
Only images from events that are both public and organized by Sandnes Culture School will be shared.
-
The sharing of images will always align with the purpose of promoting the activities and educational offerings of Sandnes Culture School.
Need and Enforcement
-
These guidelines are designed to balance the need to document and share the activities of Sandnes Culture School with respect for individual privacy and integrity. All staff are required to follow these guidelines closely to ensure the safe and respectful use of photo and video material.
Storage and Publishing
-
Sandnes Culture School uses photo and video material as long as the content is current and relevant in representing our educational work and active programs.
-
The general policy for storing and publishing photo and video material on Sandnes Culture School’s website, Vimeo, MS Teams, and MS OneDrive is up to 10 years. In some cases, however, materials may be stored longer for archival purposes in the public interest.
The school regularly reviews its website content and aims to conduct a full review and update of all published material every two years.
Storage takes place only on platforms approved by Sandnes Municipality.
