Welcome to Sandnes Culture School

ABOUT
With approximately 2,600 students, Sandnes Culture School is one of the largest of its kind in Norway. Nearly 750 of our students participate in school choirs and marching bands. The school has around 80 teachers, and an additional 25 conductors for choirs and bands are affiliated with the Culture School.

Most of our teaching takes place at our main location in Holbergsgate 23, where we share a building with Vågen Upper Secondary School. We are fortunate to have excellent teaching spaces, dance and drama studios, art exhibition areas, and a fully equipped auditorium with a grand piano. Wherever possible, we also offer decentralized teaching, especially in school districts located farther from the city center.

Sandnes Culture School celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. It began as a music school, but has since expanded to include dance, drama, creative writing, visual arts, and both classical and contemporary music. Today, we proudly carry the name Culture School.

Our teaching is based on the belief that all people have a need to express emotions, thoughts, and imagination through music and art.

Creative expression awakens and amplifies emotion, helps us get to know ourselves better, and gives us the courage to explore untapped abilities.

A culture school is breadth and excellence, structure and spontaneity, creativity and discipline, joy and responsibility, social connection and challenge, education and personal growth, quality and delight.

Welcome to Sandnes Culture School!
